No lighty, no likey?..... Well not anymore!

We have been asked again and again if we do family portraits, I usually reply by saying "yes, but not studio shots, we use natural light and........hello....hello!"

No lighty....no likey I reckon.

So as not to keep putting people off we have been doing a bit of work sourcing an extremely well kitted out studio.

Once it's all in place we will be listing our studio appointment times, dates and and prices.
If anyone is interested in a studio session with us please register your interest via the website www.andywallisphotography.co.uk and we will be in touch with more info as we get it.

As a guide, it's likely to be around £25 per hour and a CD of the images produced will be around £200. We will also be producing portfolio books too for around the same price these will be A3 hard back books.

Pre wedding shoots are all part of the service from now on with midlands based photographer

As pre wedding shoots become more and more popular a Midlands based Weddings and Events Photography firm have decided to offer them completely free!

Andy Wallis (37) of Andy Wallis Photography, Nottingham said "These photo shoots are a great chance for you and your partner to have some lovely keep sake images created before your wedding, its also a great opportunity for us as photographers to really get a feel for your venue and more importantly your expectations of us on the day."

After a successful wedding season in 2010 Andy realised that getting a chance to see his clients venue or church before the day could help their preparations enormously. "We are great at thinking on our feet but a sneak preview of the venue allows us the chance to start thinking about our shots well before we arrive on the day, we want to make sure the images we capture reflect our clients day perfectly and a pre wedding shoot really helps."

Andy Wallis Photogaphy offer pre wedding shoots with all their wedding packages, but they are complimentary with the midrange services and above.

For more information on this and to find out more about their other services go to http://www.andywallisphotography.co.uk/ or contact Andy on 07588 218851.

AWP helps Notts Hospice out on a Strictly last minute event job!

As some will already know we have been asked to photograph the Moonlight memory walk for Nottinghamshire Hospice in July. Because of this when the photographer lined up phoned in sick at the last minute we were called in to be on hand to document the Grand Final of the Strictly Learn to Dance 2011.

We found out at around 3.30pm and we were required at the event at 4.30!......"No chance" is said!...."but i could get there for 7.30pm, would that do?"
After a short while i had a call saying "Yes Please come!" I managed to get there for around 6.30 in the end, i did this by skipping dinner (something i regretted later!). All the dancers had been training for this for 10 weeks, had to raise £150 and sell 5 tickets for the final to be able to compete. There were also 3 judges attending who sat in amongst a backdrop and table arranged and prepared by Fabric Theatre which looked amazing! The compare was 'Dangerous Dave from Gem 106's Breakfast show with Sam and Amy, He did a brilliant job as Brucey (although he had all his own hair and a less protruding chin!).

The contestant's took the event very seriously and did a tremendous job, some appeared a little nervous but all seemed focused on the Glitter ball trophy.
Our job was tricky as i tried to get quite close at times to the dancers but i was never sure where they were going to move next, I would have hated to be the one to trip them up!

After 2 dances by 9 couples, 2 intermissions, 2 votes, a raffle, a speech the winners were announced....I'm not going to spoil it for you though, take a look at the official blog to read more and check out the images too via our website.

Nottinghamshire Photographer Plays Cupid This Wedding Season

Our new wedding season PR written for us by Poppy PR
A Nottinghamshire photography firm is set to make wedding photography affordable this summer with a brand new range of packages.

The new packages offered by Andy Wallis Photography will provide couples on a strict budget with a variety of documentary style images for as little as £450.

Andy (37), who offers professional Nottingham wedding photography, event and corporate photography in and around Nottinghamshire, said: “We love photographing people and looking for the 'human moments'. Never more is there an abundance of these moments than at a wedding and with the rise of documentary style photography, the way people view the occasion changes.

“Our packages are aimed at those on a strict budget and prices start at just £450. As part of our smallest package, clients would receive our photography services throughout the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. We would take both formal shots and documentary style images if required and 300 images will be provided on a CD or memory stick.”

All couples purchasing wedding photography packages from Andy Wallis Photography will also enjoy post shoot editing to add more richness and depth to the images, whilst capturing the atmosphere of their day.
Andy added: “We aim to offer our clients with a fair and realistic photography service. Digital makes photography more accessible rendering ’film’ processes unnecessary and simplifying techniques, but prices don't seem to have reflected this, we'd like to change that.”
“Our services and prices are designed to help you organise your event without having to compromise on something just to get a photographer along. It sounds ironic that you would buy a less impressive wedding dress just to be able to get someone to take photos of you in it! Take advantage of our service and get the dress you want!”

Boasting a range of flexible wedding options for the smaller and larger budget, Andy Wallis Photography also offer a range of add on options, including A3 hard back albums including 50 of your favourite prints for just £160, signable photo canvas’s starting at just £75 and even a password protected client gallery for a £25 set up fee.
